In this new digital India, new trends have started in Facebook, where people are dreaming of having a verified page or profile.
Everyone wants to verify their page/profile on Facebook and get more engagement. Fake pages/profiles are being created daily, which makes finding a real page/profile difficult.
Therefore, Facebook decided to verify the pages and profiles with a ‘verified badge,’ which will make it easier for users to find authentic and reliable pages/profiles.
Here the 8 steps to verify your Facebook page or profile:
- Get the verification request form
To get verified by Facebook, you will have to submit a request form for verification. It’s simple and easy.
You can access this form here
2. Choose the verification type
Choose the type of account that you want to request verification. There will be two options provided, if you select the ‘profile option’ then you need to paste your profile link in the space provided. And if you select the ‘page option,’ select your page from the list which will pop up as you click the page option.
3. Choose your profile/page category
This is very important as this can help Facebook to determine your industry and help them to know more about the importance of your verification.
You can choose the following options:
- Government & Politics
- Digital Creator/Blogger/Influencer
- Global Business/Brand/Organization
4. Upload your/Organization documents
Facebook requires a proof of documents to verify your page/profile. This will help identify the authenticity of the account.
Following are the documents needed:
For profile/individual’s Facebook account:
You will need to upload a government-issued ID that shows both your name and date of birth.
- Driving License
For Businesses, Brand or organization:
If your account represents a business, brand, or organization, you’ll need to provide documents showing you own the business. These documents must have an official seal or watermark of your organization, and can include the following:
- Your organization’s phone or utility bill
- A certificate of formation
- Articles of incorporation
- Tax or tax exemption documents belonging to your organization
5. Explain why your Facebook Page or profile should be verified
This is the most important part of verification. You will have to give an explanation of why you need to be verified and why it is so important. It should be legitimate and convincing, be specific about how it would be beneficial for your business/profile.
6. List other social media accounts
If you have other social media accounts such as Instagram, Twitter, etc. then share links. Although this is optional, if you are already verified on Instagram or Twitter, then this may increase chances to be verified on Facebook.
7. Add additional comments
You can also add some additional comments that can be taken into consideration. Never leave any blank spaces. Provide information as much as you can.
8. Submit and wait
After you have submitted for verification, Facebook will review your request and reply within 48 hours. But sometimes it may take up to 45 days or longer. After the review is done, you will get Facebook’s response on your Support Inbox.
If your request is denied, don’t worry; you can reapply after 30 days. Before you reapply, make sure you put some additional information into the application.
